Be advised: this journal contains occasional adult material, including but not limited to discussions of sex, both hetero- and homosexual varieties, violence, politics, activism, art and thesis statements. It is a space for those who are of enough maturity to handle such discussions with finesse and grace. Shotgun shuts his cakehole. friending policy. My journal is my space. Some things, like television commentary, general internet amusement or fic links/recs, are open to the public. Most things are not. I'm protective of my privacy and I will not apologise for it. I don't always friend back immediately, but if I do friend you back, I expect not to see my private content all over the internet. This should be obvious. If I discover who is leaking my content, the ban hammer will be used immediately. No exceptions. Let me spell out my policy on Random Strangers clearly. I see my journal as being like my apartment. I pay rent. I make it look like the way I want it to look. I invite people over to talk about things, and while we may not always agree, I realised that since I invited them, we can at least be civil to each other. However, this also means that if I find a conversation insulting, I have the right to ask it to be ended, since I am Hostess and my word in my space is law. What this means is if I have a public post and you feel like talking about it politely, you are free to do so. But I expect the courtesy of saying at least if you just stumbled across it, or if you're a friend of a friend, etc in addition to that basic politeness. Just because I leave something open, for whatever reason, this does not mean you are free to insult me in any way, shape or form. Doing so is the quickest route to being banned. Since my journal is like my apartment, I am entitled to leave the window open if I want to, or unlock the door so I can run down to get the mail. It does not mean Joe Blow off the street gets to walk in while I do so, make himself comfy on the couch and tell me how wrong I am about everything. I really hate that. reposting. I do not allow reposting of my original content without my express permission. Links with credit are fine, especially to fics/photographs, quoting unlocked content with credit is fine, but don't repost my content somewhere without asking me first, especially for profit. Flocked material is not free to be quoted anywhere unless I directly say otherwise. If flocked content is reposted and I find out about it, the offender will be banned, without warning. It's common sense. Get out the Chicago Manual of Style and get friendly with attributions. Footnotes will make me squeal with glee. anonymous comments. I don't permit them. Period. I like to know to whom I am talking, and in light of that, I do not allow anyone without a username to at least attach to their words access to my journal. IJ is a free service. Do not insult me in any way, be it personally, racially, religiously, sexually, or with any other slur or insinuation about me or my own. First time, you get a warning. Mostly ramblings about my daily life in historic and beautiful Frederick, Maryland. A lot of content about various projects and obsessions (I am a fangirl, after all). Some fic, some recs. Tons of meta (it's all just exegesis on modern media). Photographs, both snapshots and more composed pieces. Recipes. Bitching, wibbling, squeeing and general commentary on life, the universe and everything. fic and writing. I write a lot. Some of it's actual fic, some of it are recommendations for other fics, some of it is meta, some of it is just nattering on about the Hellmuses in my brain. I devote a lot of time and energy to this.
